Roof Repair in Piedmont

Water usually travels along the decking and down a rafter before it shows on your ceiling. We follow that path back to the boot, flashing or shingle that actually failed, replace that part with the right materials, and keep your shrubs, walkways and floors covered. We check in before we start and when we finish.

When a repair is the right call

Most leaks start in a handful of places: pipe boots, step flashing along a sidewall, valley metal, exposed nails at the ridge, or shingles that lost their adhesive seal and lifted in wind. If the rest of the roof still holds its granules, the tabs lie flat and the deck feels solid underfoot, fixing the one failure is the sensible move.

Water runs along the top of the decking and down rafters before it drips, so the spot in your hallway may be several feet downslope of the real entry point. We bring over 20 years of combined roofing experience to that search, checking from the attic and from the roof surface before we price anything.

All repair work is done under our Oklahoma residential roofing license. When a roof is too far gone to patch, we tell you plainly and explain what we saw, and our roof replacement page covers that path.

What our roof repair work covers

Pipe boot replacement

The rubber collar around a plumbing vent cracks after years of UV exposure and lets water run straight down the pipe. We replace the whole boot and reseat the shingles around it instead of smearing sealant over the split.

Flashing repair and resetting

Step flashing, chimney counterflashing and headwall flashing fail when they rust, get face-nailed or were installed without enough overlap. We pull the bad pieces and reset new metal so each course sheds water onto the shingle below it.

Shingle replacement

We carefully break the seal strips on neighboring courses, slide out damaged shingles and nail new ones in the correct zone. Tabs are hand-sealed so they hold down in the next strong wind.

Decking repair

Long-running leaks soften OSB and plywood until it sags or delaminates. We cut the rotted section back to the rafters and fasten new sheathing before any shingles go back on.

Ridge cap and nail pops

Backed-out nails lift shingles and leave a hole when they finally let go. We drive or replace them, seal the heads, and replace cracked ridge cap pieces.

Signs your roof needs repair

  • Stains or drips after rain

A brown ring on drywall or a drip from a light fixture means water has already made it past the shingles and underlayment. Tracing it early keeps more decking and insulation dry.

  • Missing or creased shingles

Oklahoma's spring winds can fold a shingle back and crack it across the nail line even when it stays on the roof. Once creased, it no longer seals and will lift again in the next gust.

  • Granules piling up in gutters

When one slope sheds a lot of its granule coating, the asphalt underneath bakes in the sun, dries out and starts to crack. Hail bruising or a shingle near the end of its service life is usually the cause.

  • Damp insulation or daylight in the attic

Wet patches on insulation, dark rings on the underside of the decking or pinpoints of light around vents show exactly where water is getting in.

  • Lifted flashing you can see from the yard

Metal pulling away from a chimney or wall, or a vent boot that looks split, is a common entry point and usually a quick fix when caught early.

How a repair visit runs

  1. 1

    A phone conversation first

You tell us what you've noticed, where it shows up and whether it leaks in every rain or only during wind-driven storms. That pattern narrows down where to look.

  2. 2

    Inspection and a written estimate

We check the attic and the roof surface, photograph what failed and explain the cause in plain terms. You get a written estimate that lists the repair item by item before anything is scheduled.

  3. 3

Repair day with your property covered

Tarps go over flower beds and shrubs below the work area, and ladder standoffs keep weight off your gutters. If we need the attic, we lay drop cloths along the path and wear shoe covers indoors. We let you know when we start and when we're wrapping up.

  4. 4

    Haul-off and final review

Old shingles, boots and flashing go into our trailer, and a rolling magnet passes over the grass and driveway to pick up loose nails. Before we leave, we go over photos of the finished repair with you. The work carries our lifetime workmanship warranty.

What moves the price of a roof repair

The number on a repair comes down to what has to be removed, what gets installed in its place and how difficult the spot is to reach. The true scope often shows only once the shingles around the damage are lifted. That is why your written estimate spells out what we expect to find and what could change it.

Hidden damage under the shingles
A small failure on the surface can hide soaked underlayment or soft decking beneath it. New sheathing means more material and more labor.
Pitch, height and access
Steep slopes and two-story roofs call for extra fall protection and staging. Working them safely simply takes longer.
Matching materials
Discontinued shingle lines, metal panels or specialty products can take extra time to locate or match closely.
Flashing type
Chimney counterflashing often has to be cut into the mortar joints, which is slower work than swapping step flashing along a sidewall.

Roof repair questions

Something not covered here? (405) 870-2474

Can you fix just the damaged area, or will I need a new roof?

Most of the time a leak traces back to one failed component, and a repair is all you need. We weigh shingle age, granule loss and how many areas are failing at once. If the roof has several active problems and the shingles have gone brittle, we'll show you photos and explain why repairs would just keep coming.

Will the new shingles match my roof?

We match brand, profile and color as closely as current products allow. On day one the new pieces often look a shade darker, since your existing shingles have faded in the sun and shed part of their granule coating. That contrast tends to even out over a few seasons.

Can't you just put sealant on it?

Sealant has a place, like covering nail heads or hand-sealing tabs, but it shouldn't be the main fix for a cracked boot or failed flashing. Roof sealants dry out and crack under sun and temperature swings, so a caulked repair often leaks again within a few seasons. We replace the part that failed.

Is my repair covered by a warranty?

Yes. Our repair work is backed by our lifetime workmanship warranty, which covers how we installed it. Any manufacturer warranty on the materials themselves is separate.

What if the damage came from hail or wind?

Then it may be an insurance matter, and our storm damage repair page covers that side of things. We photograph each bruised, torn or creased shingle and point out which marks came from the storm and which are ordinary wear, so you have a clear record to share with your insurer. The adjuster is the one who decides what your policy pays for.
